Do you love smoothies? I know summer is one of the best times to make them because fruits are aplenty, and a cold drink just feels so good on a hot summer’s day. But I just didn’t make nearly enough smoothies this summer so I’m catching up as quick as I can. I’ve decided that September shall be Smoothie Love Month at My Juice Cleanse! So get out your blenders and get ready for all things smoothie!

Blenders are usually best for smoothies, they make the process so quick and easy, plus you can add yogurt, bananas, avocados, powders such as spirulina and more. Yesterday I picked up some cantaloupes from the grocery store. Here is the smoothie I made with it this morning.

 

Cantaloupe Smoothie

1/4 quarter cantaloupe, seeded and cubed

1 banana, fresh or frozen

1/2 cup vanilla yogurt

splash of orange juice

1/2 Tablespoon ground flax seed

optional – ice cubes

Place all in blender and blend until smooth.  This makes one serving.
