Book Review of Drew Canole’s Juicing Recipes

Have you heard of Drew Canole yet? Drew is a health and fitness coach and the face of fitlife.tv. He has transformed his body into a lean mean machine and he wants to help you do the same. One healthy practice that has helped Drew succeed is juicing and in his own words, “When I started juicing daily, my gains increased substantially, continually lowering my body fat while building lean muscle.” And boy is he passionate about juicing! Just have a look at the video below and see what I mean:

As stated in the video, Drew has released a book of his juicing recipes entitled Juicing Recipes From Fitlife.TV Star Drew Canole For Vitality and Health. The book is available on Amazon in the kindle format. Note: you don’t need a kindle to read the book. You can read through your internet browser. I know that readers of My Juice Cleanse are hungry for juice recipes, right? So I’ve read the book, made a few of the recipes and now I’d like to share my thoughts with you.
Drew’s style is simple, direct, funny, and sometimes over-the-top (he named one of his juices “Mountain Drew”). In the book you’ll find just over one hundred juice recipes.  He starts things off with a few one ingredient juices. While that may sound obvious and a waste of space for a recipe, remember that each and every fruit, vegetable, and herb has amazing nutritional and healing powers. In the world of herbalism we call that a “simple” and sometimes simple is best. The recipes in Juicing Recipes are divided into two sections: fruit juices and vegetable juices and for the most part Drew doesn’t mix the two. I know some of you might be thinking that you can’t possibly drink a green juice without fruit, but don’t worry. Apples and lemons do show up in some of the veggie juices and you’ll be just fine. What struck me the most about this book is that Drew is coming to us from the viewpoint of a fitness expert plus someone who juices daily. So he has included several juices for working out, staying hydrated, relieving sore muscles, and maintaining energy. If fitness and working out are high on your list then you will definitely want to buy Juicing Recipes. And if you haven’t yet started working out but just want to start a healthy routine, you’ll find plenty of other recipes for detox, glowing skin, improved brain function, building immunity and more. (Did I say Love Juice? That’s in the book too!) Basically Drew makes juicing fun and it’s handy to have a book on your Kindle or your computer that you can take into the kitchen and browse for a recipe. You can purchase the book here.   1. It would be nice if Drews book was out in a paperback so we could actually have the book on the kitchen counter top for making the jiuce recipes

    1. Barb, in Amazon, click on the drop down menu Your account and choose Manage Your Kindle. A page should appear with a list of kindle books you’ve purchased. To the right is another dropdown Actions. Choose Read Now and it should appear in your browser 🙂

  4. I`ve been dying to try Drew`s recipes, but I can`t spend $$ on a juicer after I bought me a VitaMix. Can I try the same recipes on the blender and strain the juice in a hemp nut milk bag??? Would I reap the same benefits??

  5. Hi! I’ve been wanting to change my eating habits for many years now. I’m not a greens eater at all. Never liked them. But I do love fruits. I’m willing to try juicing. Can you give me any advise of which juices I can start drinking without a strong/bitter taste?

    Also, can you explain (if you know) the difference between the NutriBullet and a regular juicer machine?

    1. Many people like green juice who do not like to eat greens. Romaine lettuce is mild, for instance. There are plenty of juices you will like in this book.

      The NutriBullet is a type of blender. It does not remove the fiber like a juicer.

  8. Consumption of home made juices has unfortunately decreased
    steadily in the past few years. One of the most time consuming of all tasks
    is making grape juice. The Power Chopper can be in a drawer and you just pull out the parts you need.

  9. I have a Ninja kitchen system. I am told that system can be used as a juicer. Can I use that for these juice recipes?

    1. The Ninja is a high speed blender. It does not remove the fiber, but you can always strain the fiber out afterward.

  10. I have a vitamix, can I use the same juice receipes without the nutbag and hwve the same results?
